About XML
Reports
XML Reports offer a powerful way of
creating parameter driven reports in Recorder 6.
Key features are :-
- Run from within Recorder
- All Recorder 6 tables can be used in
reports
- Recorder 6 User Defined Functions (UDF's) can
be used
- External CSV files can be accessed as
tables
- Recorder filter files (generated when
importing data) can be accessed as tables
- Rucksacks can be accessed and used as tables
- Record selection is parameter driven based on user
defined criteria
- Output sort order is parameter driven based
on user defined criteria
- Column output order and width user defined
- Can be run as Quick reports from main
Recorder windows
- Access to Recorder records from the reports
- Export report output in many different
formats
- Easy to share with others
XML reports can not be used to update the system
supplied tables in Recorder database, but a separate facility XML Batch Updates
can be used to do this. Some limited Help for XML Batch Updates is
included in this help system. Note that XML reports can update tables
where permission has been granted to 'public' . This allows additional
table to be added to the R6 database for reporting purposes as long as the
appropriate permssions are granted.
